Crikey Ebay has been on fire the last 24 hours! 6 sales (not that i'm complaining!)
The last couple of days have been busy. I made sure that the two pre-NYE sales were posted first thing yesterday. I had two more sales yesterday, one was posted today, the other is due to be collected tomorrow and I have 4 more parcels to send tomorrow from today's sales.
I have moved most of the money to savings (minus fees and postage), plus I was waiting for 2 payments when I moved the money earlier, so that will be sorted at some point tomorrow when I check my banking.
Anyway, my January savings goal is now at £95.37/£166.66 :j I have two bits to list tomorrow (outgrown clothing) and then I think that's pretty much it for now. It's just a matter of the remaining listings selling
I have had some spends over the last couple of days - about £22 on a top up shop and then just the ebay postage.
I did check in on the charity shop as planned - it was packed to the rafters, but I didn't stay in there long as there was a chap moaning about health and safety with how over crowded it was and I could only take a few minutes of it, so he saved me money :money: :rotfl:

Good Morning,
Just a quick update this morning.
One of the ebay sales I had at the end of last week has had to be cancelled as the person didn't pay, despite my politely chasing. The item has been relisted. I had a sale last night so that will go out today :money:
My January savings goal is now at £107.75/£166.66.
I also did some typing work yesterday to get me back into the habit of doing that after an xmas break.
I also have 14 items in the bargain cupboard earmarked for birthdays/xmas 2020, another one is due to be delivered shortly. All money spent was in budget and all items were at least 50% off. I have bought items for specific people and have made a list of who has been bought what so that I don't repurchase anything at a later date.
DD1 last day off, so we're going to spend the day at home having fun and getting ready for the week ahead. Have a great day whatever you're up to.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
Good Morning!
The last couple of days have had some spends - food shopping and ebay postage. Other than that, we've entertained ourselves via free activities at local libraries/free swimming session/at home.
No more sales have been made, despite having loads of questions. Hopefully, more will come in time. Likewise, I've not done anymore typing work so far, so need to get my finger out with this if I want to keep moving towards my January Savings target.
I'm currently just off target for Jan goals,
1. Save £50 towards retirement (currently in Premium Bonds) - DONE
2. Save £166.66 to Emergency Fund - Currently at £107.75/£166.66
3. Read 12 books in 2020 - 2/3's of the way through my first book
4. 1 Family Activity per week - 2/4 completed (cinema trip and trip to local park).
5. Fitness goals - increased walking via school run, and a couple of weights sessions, need to focus on consistency.
6. Increase income by completing work at home (surveys/typing etc) - very little done so far, again, need to focus on consistency.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -

Thanks SH, I am happy with the progress so far.
I can't believe it has been 10 days since I last posted! I really must make sure I post more consistently.
So what has been going on here? Well, the bank is now empty and we'll be cultivating moths until Friday, which is payday. We have enough food, so it's just a matter of keeping things ticking along for now.
I have sold 5 more items over the last week, all sent out, mine were all 99p or £1.50 items, so negligible savings contributions after fees and postage, but it all helps with the decluttering and means they have nice new homes. The two other items were the DD's old toys, so they have had the money either moved electronically into their savings or the cash in their piggy banks (dependent upon buyer payment ).
I accepted an offer on a BIN item yesterday, again a lower value item, but it means that things are moving out of the house and we have a small savings boost :T
In terms of 2020 goals, I have completed 3 for Jan (£50 PB's, Decluttering and Read 1 book), am on amber for 3 (Family days on 3/4, redecorating DD1 bedroom at the moment and currently at £114.62/£166.66 for monthly savings goal) and 8 on red (Fitness goals, mortgage OP's, Family Activity ideas jar and work from home goals).
I like that I have tracked the progress as I can see where I need to focus my energy more to get a more rounded approach to my goals. Any progress is progress in the right direction, so I am not beating myself up about it.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
Oooh, I like the idea of a traffic light system for monitoring goals. But that would involve, er, remembering what I set out to achieve in the first place....:oMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I have mine as a sheet on my money tracking spreadsheet - that way, when I'm looking at money, I can just switch tabs and update my goals tracker too - I have the goals listed down the side and then Jan- Dec along the top and I make notes in each line by month and colour the box green, amber or red - HTH!2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -

Well done on the spreadsheet. I use my diary on here and my journal to help keep track of my goals - but that is a level of organisation I've not seen.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality by mid 2030

Thanks for dropping in Bennetxoxo - Fingers crossed your home move goes quickly and smoothly!
Finally caught up with your diary. I hadn't had a read since July!!
Shame on me.
House move did not go quick or smoothly. After issues with the bank and them saying they would only lend if the property was rewired (which we ended up doing ourselves to save money), etc. we finally completed on the 4 December! Only 6 months later than I'd hoped.
I think I need to become more organised like you have with savings and goals. Maybe the first goal of my MFW diary should be to actually set some goals.Mortgage start: £121,500 Dec 190
