There are a load of phones on their website that are free?
When I ordered, I never knew about any mistake been made by them?

What made you choose this offer over the other offers? Was it because it wash crazy deal compared to the others...

It’s not just knowing, it’s knowing or ‘should have known’
  • Katrina, I simply chose this phone over others as it was the cheaper deal. There is only 500mb Datain the contract which does not bother me.

    I have done nothing wrong.

No one is accusing you of ‘doing anything wrong’ however the company does not have to honour a deal which is a ‘clear mistake’ which judging by the gleeful excitement on the forum linked, it indeed seems like it was a too good to be true deal.

I have since been reading that many others have been stung by this company too, some on this deal and some on other deals.
It seems it is not a very good company to deal with if you just google
    “A1 Comms Court”

I mean this is literally free, the airtime doesnt even come close to paying for the phone at the current price. Also based on the UKHD or HUKD whatever forums it appears they are listed but not charged for, or something. I havent done a deep dive.
Good redemption deals (with cashback) are more rare now, but not uncommon.

Many times in the past I had got FREE airtime for 18-24 months with a cheap FREE phone thrown in. And AffordableMobiles was one of the companies playing this game. Such deal are available because of the very big commission that dealers get from mobile networks for new long contracts.

you may end up trashing your credit history/rating by no fault of your own.
    Can they REALLY do this?
The contract is with EE; they just supplied the phone. Can any retailer trash customers' credit files even if no credit was involved?

Only if they take the consumer to court (small claims), win, and the consumer doesn't pay the judgment in the stipulated time. At that point a CCJ will be registered which will show on the consumer's credit file for 6 years.

    That's what I thought.

Some other companies (e.g. mobile networks, utility suppliers) can do this routinely without any courts, but it isn't the case with AffordableMobiles.
