PPI reclaim

Hi hive mind,
I've recently submitted a form via a claims management company and received a response saying I have a valid claim with 3 loans.
They have given me the last 4 digits from the loans along with the bank name but are asking me for details of when the loan was, what my occupation was etc. (I was using a management company so I'd avoid this type of thing!).
Now this could have been anytime as I've used the bank for an extended period so I have no idea what the time I held those specific loans.
The claims management company is totally online so it's really frustrating dealing with them as you can only email, wait 2 days for a generic response then email them again.
Can anyone advise what steps I need to do to follow this up on my own as I seem to be doing all the legwork so why should I pay them xx% for the privilege?!!!
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately its a bit late now that you have claimed with this CMC as they will want their pound of flesh for anything that you receive and the bank etc will see that they have had correspondence from the CMC. Obviously you could complain to the CMC and if you are not happy with their repsonse, you can then take it further to FOS.
Again and without saying "We told you so", its a perfect example of why you should never use one of these companies. All they do is package your responses and pass these on to the firms themselves. And then take a huge fee of course!
There are so many examples that I could quote of the CMC's ineptitude, but I will resist the temptationI work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0 -

I think hoping that a claims company would know what your occupation was several years ago was optimistic.
It'll take longer and be harder work using the claims company, but on the positive side, they'll pay for the stamp.0 -

You've signed a Letter Of Authority allowing them to represent you in PPI complaints. All they've done since is contact your Bank and ask them whether you had PPI. You could easily have done this yourself.
Now they are asking you to provide them with the information required to make a compelling complaint, but if you don't know the dates etc you'll have to ask the bank directly.
Obviously, your occupation at the time is very relevant in a mis-selling complaint and you should provide such detailsBrewing_Dave wrote: »Can anyone advise what steps I need to do to follow this up on my own as I seem to be doing all the legwork so why should I pay them xx% for the privilege?!!!The_squirrell wrote: »Obviously you could complain to the CMC and if you are not happy with their repsonse, you can then take it further to FOS.0 -
