I've switched suppliers a few times over the years without any problems. However I've just tried to switch from Utility Point to Bulb and UP have objected to the switch and have blocked it for the bizarre reason I will have to pay a £30 termination fee for each of the fuels. My account is in massive credit (at least 3x my monthly usage). I have spoken to UP without resolution and Bulb have now said they can't switch me because of this objection. So I'm trapped. Where do I go from here? I thought of raising an Ofgem complaint but I can't because I need to try to resolve the problem with UP but they are refusing to engage in a resolution.
Pay the £60 termination fee immediately;,... you'll receive your FULL credit refund in due course,...which will/should be shortly after Utility Point have prepared your final bill.

So you're trying to switch while still in contract, in which case, pay the exit fees, then go ahead and switch.

Then, if you have any issues with them blocking the switch, you can raise it as a complaint with them, and they'll have 8 weeks to resolve it before you can escalate it to the obudsman.

Don't switch to bulb! You'll end up regretting it, like I did.
I did nt , they paid my Eon exit fees, eventually, but I paid my exit fees to Eon who , eventually refunded my credit.. Thats how it appears to work.
So far, without really trying hard I`ve collected £100 in my two friends referral fees.. I count that as £100 off my annual bill making Bulb easily the cheapest supplier in the UK.
They are already not far off the lowest rates in the UK for me in S.Yorks even if they are standard/variable..They lowered the rates earlier this year
