My 9 year old son has a very old, and now very battered HP laptop that came to us as a castoff from my husband's work. He hasn't treated it as a battering ram or a missile. He does however, have a five year old brother with special needs who does tend to slide into,or push the laptop off the sofa. The bounce down the stairs was accidental.

All four iphones (2 personal and 2 work) and both ipads are still immaculate. Thanks
