Architect Fees - broken down...reasonable?

Hi

We are planning a double story extention to the rear of our house, will be about 18m sq all in all. We have an old cottage approx 200 years old.

We have been quote the following
Stage 1
Survey - basic check survey, cad survey of the house, floor plans and site plan (we are looking to move quite a few walls around internally too) £540

Stage 2
Scheme design - allows for two initial scheme drawings in prep for pre app planning £575

Stage 3
Pre planning - presume its viable £725 on top for plans, elevations and specs to obtain buildings regs approval £870

Stage 4
Anticipated building regs checking authority approx. £800

This all excludes council planning fees etc.

Any feedback would be appreciated
