Problem with windows media player

Trying to play a few movies i have got off the net and when i try and play them on windows media player it trys to play the film then come ups with an error message something about encode and just plays the sound and not the movie any suggestions why its not working thanks.

It's probably because you haven't got the correct 'codec' installed.
So you need to Google around and try to find K-Lite Codec Pack.
A slicker way is to use VLC media player instead. This comes with all the codecs built in, it will play almost anything that you can throw at it.

My PC wont play anything thru Media Player.
Then when I unplugged the wireless dongle from the USB, Media Player worked fine! Sodding thing....0 -
Yep, use VLC player.... will play pretty much anything!0
