Places in London as quirky as Camden?

Options
Hi all

Me & the wife (from Manchester) ‘stumbled’ on Camden Town a couple of years ago. We loved it for everything that it is. I was telling my pal and he said there’s a couple of other places in London similar to Camden Town. So...come on guys. Give us your suggestions and I’ll do the research. BTW... we have a free day in London this coming Saturday.
Thanks all.

Shoreditch. Go see where all the hipsters live lol.

There's nothing quite as quirky as Camden in terms of crowds and weird stuff attached to the top of shops. What are you looking for in particular?

Aubrey my oh and i ,oved Camden for the same reason. Some of the music wax magic, dance a little and entertsibec a couple of stallholders inadvertantly and would go again in a heartbeat

Nowhere I can think of is quite like Camden. That said - Covent garden often has street performers and is nice for a wander round. Nothing like Camden, but if you're just 'window shopping' it's still interesting enough. Pro tip - get off at Leicester Square and walk instead of changing tube lines for one stop. Much faster.

If it was the nightlife of Camden you enjoyed, maybe try Soho? Loads of bars and caf!s, much less seedy than its reputation. The Crobar plays loud rock all night, has a decent happy hour and last time I checked was decorated with comic books, so there's always something to read.

If you do go to Shoreditch to check out the hipsters, then Old Spitalfields Market is nice to look around. The book club has ping pong tables. Plenty to see and do there.

If it's been a couple of years, going back to Camden is always an option - I rarely get the chance to visit these days, but it used to change pretty frequently.

Have fun, wherever you end up!
  • Thanks for the advice guys (especially the lengthy response from user K80). Just had a quick browse round the web (after your suggestions) and I have decided to stay somewhere between your suggestion of Shoreditch and Camden and will deffo visit Covent, Soho and spitalfields.

    Thanks all.

Again not as quirky or on the same scale as Camden but Portobello Road is interesting.
