I'm trying to navigate the confusing world of surveyors!
I want a building survey conducted. I've had a number of wildly ranging quotes. I'm told the survey should be conducted by a chartered building surveyor and not just a chartered MRICS/FRICS surveyor.
How do I check the person is a building surveyor? There are a few claiming they're building surveyors but I'm not sure.
A GP is a doctor, a neurologist is a doctor that specialises in the nervous system.
A Chartered Surveyor is the equivalent of a GP, a building surveyor is one that specialises in buildings and will generally only do building survey work.
You can only know if they specialise by asking them.
