Can anyone offer me any advice, I split up with my husband 2 years ago, we are still married and I have yet to file for divorce, just after we split my ex took out a massive loan in his own name and also became a guarantor on a big loan for one of his family which in total is approx £37,000, will this have an affect on me with us still being married and would it stop me getting credit ?

it depends if you are still financially connected or not. if you continue to have joint accounts then yes this will affect you as his financial record will be linked to you but if you have separated all finances then no it will not as the loan/guarantor is in his sole name and is financially independent of you.Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0

If it's only in his name then it's not a joint debt, it's his alone and nothing to do with you - this applies to the guarrantor loan as well.
Going forward, make sure any joint financial products you have together, such as joint bank accounts, are neither closed or have your name removed from them.
Would suggest you see a solicitor and get a advice about divorce and division of assets, if any.0
