ex demanding money

  • In addition to what others have said above about it being his loan, not yours, the statutory six years have passed since he took out the loan so any claim he may think he has against you is statute barred in any case.

    So relax.

Who the alleged ex or the OP?

    Neither, the loan....

    Original post
demanding I pay back a loan he took out 14 years ago to pay some of my debt.
  • It’s been a while.... however this case did go to court!! Today in fact.... and because I didn’t respond to his original text messages the judge found in his favour.  I now have 14 days in which to pay him back the original loan & interest, court costs and extra interest which the judge added over the period of time since the house sold!  Not a good year all round really

You shouldnt have needed to respond to his txt messages !! but responding to the papers the court would have served on you would have been a very good idea.

It takes around 12 months from papers being issued to get to court. You didn't mention any court papers when you first posted in June.

You have either left huge chunks of the story out or this is a complete lack of porkies.

Yes, the OP previously posted 14 months ago. That sounds about right
  • There wasn’t any court papers issued at the time I originally posted... if u read that post it was on the back of receiving a letter from my ex!  To which I did respond... then came the court papers to which a defence was filed and statements followed.
