There's been a huge increase in this weed throughout my area of Devon this year. I wonder if others have observed similar rampantness?
It's been widespread for long time and very successful in normal years, without drawing too much attention to itself, but I can't account for the dramatic difference this year.
It doesn't bode well for 2020!

Big increase here too. But then I've not been weeding as much this year and I do tend to let it be until it's really easy to pull out of the ground and not get stuck to my clothing.
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0 -
Same here, maybe caused by last year's hot summer, or shall we blame Brexit?:DEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Same here (East Anglia), along with a profusion of all sorts of poppies everywhere, though these are greatly appreciated.
I blame Brexit/Putin/global warming/Corbyn...0 -
Yes, all over the place here in Sheffield. Spilling under fences onto pavements on the road next to mine. Also foxgloves everywhere where I’ve never seen them before.0

...strangely, I've seen less foxgloves - the 3-4 we've had in previous years haven't come back this year...

It’s my third summer here and my garden’s full of them for the first time. I don’t remember seeing the plants last year but I guess I must have missed them? I also think I’ve got a load of cosmos coming up that’s got nothing to do with me. I’m really pleased because I’ve been lazy and not planted much.0 -
Thanks for the confrmation it not just happening here.
Although I would like to blame Brexit, I suspect it has something to do with the exceptional summer of 2018 and a relatively easy winter with the seeds not being in high demand as food for .......whatever eats them!0 -

Nothing appeared to happen until this year, when we have a few odd bods among the standard native foxgloves along the field edges. I'm not sure if I approve of them yet though, so I may yet remove the aliens.0 -
Did a similar thing with the native bluebell seedheads just a few days ago. I used to do it with aquilegia too, but I think we have enough now

We have loads of poppies and foxgloves too this year. All over the garden too. The above pic is the most dense, but there are pockets of them all over the garden.
Not sure how the got into that bit of the garden as it's the vegetable patch lol.
The aquilegia have gone made too.
Everything is self sown as we don't collect the seeds.0
