Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

Sure you've had this advise but when you get into your new home, first thing to do is make up the bed(s) ...once you start shifting boxes / unpacking the last thing you're going to want to do come bed time is wrestle with duvets.

Also, keep a box with 'essentials' to hand - kettle, tea/coffee/squash, biscuits or snacks, cups for everyone (and plates) so you're not rummaging about in 101 boxes trying to find the kettle for a cuppa.

Our son's purchase completed at mid-day, he collected the keys straight away and he was in by 2 pm :)

Our purchase completed but we did not move in for several months as the bungalow needed so much work doing to it (the purchase did not depend upon the sale of our house).

    Both properties were already empty.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
