How to check if the advisories will be a problem in the future?
I've just done a hpi check on A car I'm interested in. It's a 14 year old Clio with 80k miles on the clock and going for £1100. I just need it for a run around right now. It failed on previous mot but these issues have been fixed but the advisories haven't. Here are the advisories:
ADVISORY
Nearside Front Anti-roll bar linkage pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Front Tyre slightly damaged/cracking or perishing (5.2.3 (d) (ii))
Offside Front Macpherson strut corroded but not seriously weakened (5.3.3 (b) (i))
What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

It's not what we think as you are the one buying and going to drive the vehicle, at £1100 and a 14yr old car, I think you are being unreasonable to expect brand new Maybach service on this one.0

£1100 feels an awful lot for a 14 year old Clio i would not pay more than £500.0

If it is from a dealer then buy a £500 car for £500 off a private seller.
If its a private sale then offer him £300-£400 less....you send him a text saying "final price" or "best price" or a random figure that is a lot under his asking price - that seems to be the norm these days.0 -

The tyre is an easy one to check. You should be checking tyres weekly anyway.
Presumably the ARB bushes are the droplinks - they're a consumable, and not at all hard or expensive to change.
The strut is a bit more of a job, but still not the end of the world. It all depends on the tester - it could just look a bit grot, it could be really quite rotten. If it's bad enough to need replacing, then do both fronts at the same time.0 -
I'd be tempted to have a chat with a friendly mechanic about cost of repairing those advisories. They are likely to cause problems at the next MOT so I would factor that cost into the price of the car. It may be worth paying someone to do a full inspection if you are serious.
If I were buying a runaround, I'd get a cheap one for £500 (provided no major issues via MOT), drive it around and the moment it needed money to fix or repair, I'd consider chucking it and buying another.0
