No return within a hour question

Hi there all.

Did my weekly shop at aldi within a retail park earlier.
Whilst there My toddler lost a shoe and left my name and number to get a call if it was found.

Approx 45 minutes later I had a call saying it had been found so went back

On entry to the car park I spotted a notice no return within an hour and so promptly left (max 2 minutes or so in the car park and never actually parked up)

After which I parked on the street outside the car park

Am I likely to receive a fine?

Do you get a fine for simply being there and not parking?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Phil.

    Which PPC - ParkingEye?

Contact the Aldi store manager now to put a marker up should a parking charge come through. He might be able to give you some immediate comfort if the condition isn't enforced. Or, he'll have advance warning and know your case if the PPC tries it on.

'No return in x hours' cases are rare birds on here. I'd tend not to over-concern yourself at this early stage.

    Thanks for the reply

I will speak to them if something comes across.

They will remember me, the whole store were looking for the missing trainer

When I mentioned it to the staff they wasn't even aware that you couldn't come back..

Not sure on the company that manages it

There's actually a live case running on Pepipoo for such a case, where there were 2 different drivers: HERE. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Is there a time limit to parking notices?

e.g. if you dont hear withing 14 days your not prosecuted, like speeding fines etc?

It's time you read the NEWBIES sticky thread. It'll answer a lot of your questions without the need for us to repeat it all.

Most PPCs (all?) have 6 years in which to decide whether to take you to court. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

However the success rate is very high for those who do go to court and follow advice on here. Plus I'd put good money on your complaint being successful. Don't let it drop if for some reason you don't hear back from Aldi or receive the wrong sort of reply, persevere if necessary.
