Steamy oven.

My Uncle bought an oven in the 2018 new year sales and had it installed by the shops manufacturer approved installer.
Was around there yesterday and made lunch of roast chicken & vegetables.
Thing is the chicken & veg didn’t brown at all and had the texture of being steamed. Also whenever I opened the oven door there was a massive blast of steam.
Looking at the manual it says the oven should be properly vented but doesn’t say what that means. The old oven was slid out and the new one slid in. The old oven didn’t have steam issues.
Is it possible the installer didn’t open some vents on the new oven?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks

It's not unusual for ovens to produce a lot of steam, usually down to not preheating probably and putting too many "wet" ingredients in at the same time. For example if he was doing a roast chicken with roast potatoes then the chicken should've been cooked and finally browned on it's own then removed to rest whilst the oven is turned up to roast the veg. If he roasted the chicken on a bed of veg then I would expect steam. Did he cover in foil or not?
As far as venting he needs to check that the space around the oven meets the manufacturer guidelines in the manual. It will also have an air fan vent at the front and top of the door but this will only come on in certain circumstances.
Make/model of oven would be useful.0
