Solarplicity still billing me
Options
My electricity supply moved on 4th April.
Solarplicity (old supplier) are continuing to bill me monthly.
I have already told them a new supplier took over on 4th April.
They seem to have just ignored this message and are continuing to bill me monthly using estimated reads.
I have so far ignored these bills. They now reckon I am in arrears.
As I have paid approximately up to the correct usage, if they attempt to summons on an erroneous debt I will win, won't I?
I have double checked the start date with my new supplier and they have confirmed the start date and start read.
If I see a bill with the correct close read and end date I will pay it, but that would only be for a few pence at best as I've tried to pay the actual amount I owe.
This is just a reminder of why I am ditching these jokers.

I'm with Solarplicity. They're a truly awful company.
I had smart meters installed in February, then they stopped billing me.
I complained a few weeks ago and they produced a stack of inaccurate bills. A few days later they deleted these bills from my account.
Their customer portal is down for 'maintenance' at the moment.
I think Solarplicity is another energy company on the cusp of officially going bust.
They've been barred from accepting new customers because of the high levels of complains about them: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47329324.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solarplicity:Accounts for Solarplicty Energy Limited and Solarplicity Supply Limited to 31 March 2018 are overdue for filing at Companies House by over five months as of 1 June 2019.
For the year ended 31 March 2017, Solarplicity Energy Limited's profit was £26,177 on a turnover of £13.1m; this compares to a profit for the previous year of £81,582 on a turnover of £12.1m.
Solarplicity Ltd, the energy generation arm, was put into liquidation on 14 May 2018 following a winding up petition from HM Revenue & Customs. Documents filed at Companies House indicate a total of £3.96 million in outstanding and overdue taxes owed by this entity.0 -
i'm in the same position. I left in April, well, i started to leave them in April. They blocked my new provider, shell energy, from taking over. Eventually, this was sorted out and they are still billing me. I cancelled my direct debit after May's payment as i wasn't paying 2 companies, theyre still billing me .
The whole things been a total pain in the !!!. So much for switching made easy. And yes, i did go through Martins cheap energy club for the whole switching.:mad:0 -
Thanks for the replies.
As I suspected this is just general Solarplicity incompetence rather than anything specifically against me. They have started texting me overdue reminders now.
Will probably send a written letter by recorded post if this continues much longer, and the just wait for the court summons (if they really are that incompetent).0
