Is anything more stressful than house selling/buying?

Yes, selling a house is very stressful. The house I was selling was not my house, it was my moms house and I had no option but to sell to pay for her Nursing Home fees as she has Dementia.I am a Senior Ambassador on the Competitions Time Board and the Old Style MoneySaving Board.

We did lose the house, and the next one too, but we're still fine. There's always another house.
And if the truth is told, the only house we really regret not buying, is one we met early and walked away from because we were too inexperienced at the time to recognise the value and the USP, not a property someone 'stole' from us.0 -
I think it is one of the most stressful things there is for those of us with the money to afford it. I still find it crazy that anyone can pull out at any time for any reason in the process and that there aren't more safeguards to keep deals together, but there you go.
I sold my old house I'd been letting, then sold the place we were living in and bought another and I was honestly quite impressed we only lost one buyer and one place to buy in the whole process. I was bracing myself for multiple fall-throughs.0 -
I am finding buying a house very stressful. It is the not knowing which is making me feel sick. I feel like it has taken over my life. The house hunt was about 6 months, the first AIP was a straight decline on application. Now the second house, application in, valuation done but just waiting for an offer (pretty much decided it will be a no). I feel like I am waiting for it to fall apart.
I have put a lot of pressure on it though. My partner of 7 years walked out on me 2 years ago and this is the last of the goals I set. I rent at the moment and have done everything else I have set out for myself but this is my final goal. It is like a culmination of all of my hard work to be in control of my own destiny and never to rely on anyone again.
It is a void of information and something I feel I have no control over. I don't understand the affordability stuff and the valuation scares me.
If I get the mortgage offer I think I will calm down a bit but until then I am on the edge. I just cannot see why it would go right....
So yeah. Finding it tough going.0
