Hello, does anyone know if you can transfer UC if you're moving from one council area to another one or do you need to close the current claim and reopen it again?

Your claim continues but you need to report a change of circumstances.

Note that the change will be applied from the first day of the assessment period in which it occurs, not from the actual date of the change. This will work to your advantage if your housing element goes up, to your disadvantage if it goes down.
