Tax free childcare

Hi,

One of the eligibility conditions for tax-free childcare are that neither parent should earn more than 100k. Please could someone tell me if that figure is "gross salary minus pension contributions" or just gross earnings?

Thanks in advance!

As far as I can see it’s adjusted net income see https://www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare and Adjusted net income https://www.gov.uk/guidance/adjusted-net-income

It appears that gross pension contributions are allowed as deductions.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Based on the question they ask in the form, it appears to be after deducting pension contributions
