Smart Parking Fine

Hello All


Just received a smart parking fine. I parked my car there for 17 minutes while I went and tried to get change for it but was unsuccessful so I decided to move the car somewhere else. Just wondering what the best option is to go forward? I don't have any intention to pay 60 pound for 17 minutes because I didn't have any change. This also happened in Northern Ireland.



Any help is appreciated.

ignore! they have no powers in NI. you will get a few letters demanding payment, threatening legal action, then when you don't respond, they make an offer for a reduced payment. eventually they stop.

Yup - The NI advice above is good but you would still be well advised to read the Newbies Sticky here to inform yourself more fully about the private parking scam and to prepare yourself for the onslaught of "scary" debt collector letters.

And remember, so long as you don't tell them who was driving, there is zip-all they can do about it in NI.
