Why is there a notification of correction on my file

So i have just applied for something and got a response saying that manual checks need to be done because there is a notification of correction on my file. I have looked what that is and I dont know why it is there as I have never done that.
Can creditors put that on my file?
I did a free check on my file with Experian and my result was excellent but it doesn't show the notification

No only you can put a notice of correction on your credit files.0

It is likely that the NOC relates to someone who you have had a financial association with either currently or previously. You should know if it relates to you as you will have requested for it to be added to your file0
