Japanese Import
Comments
-
We bought a 10 year old, low mileage, Mazda Bongo "grey import" through a dealer in 2008 and aside from the things mentioned above (rear fog light, Japanese radio and undersealing - all of which are easily rectified) the only issue I can think of is that not all insurers are happy to insure a grey import so you may need to phone around as you probably won't be able to use the online comparison sites for insurance. Go on a few Japanese Car Club forums and the like - if you join an owners club you will probably benefit from some insurance discount too.
The bonus of course, is that the Japanese drive on the same side of the road as us, so it's right hand drive. We still have it and it is in daily use.
We also had the full service history from new, and the auction sheets, etc. Can't read Japanese but the dates were in English script!!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
