I am semi retired, working part time and currently under tax threshold. I am attending full time HNC from August and will receive student loan of about £6000.
All this is new to me and I am unsure whether it is worth taking the loan or not.

Post-graduation, you pay 9% back on anything you earn above 18k gross, this is mooted to go up to 25k in 2021.
On the current setup, the amounts debited monthly will feel negligible up until you're earning around the 25k mark, when you get up to nearer 40k and start paying the best part of £200 a month, they become annoying but not exactly crippling.0
