Faulty Electrics Ford Ka 2011
TL:DR - ignition stays on when key removed, constantly draining battery.
Went out this morning to my car with wind wipers on, looked inside the car and all dashboard lights are lit as if the ignition is on.
Obviously this meant I had a flat battery as the wipers had been on all night!
I have removed and replaced the ignition fuse in the fuse box under the bonnet, and also tried removing and replacing the dashboard controls fuse in the interior fuse box. However the ignition still stays on...
Seems like a crossed connection or faulty electrics somewhere. Has anybody had experience of a similar issue with a Ford Ka and know who I should go to with this issue?
Seems pointless charging my battery if the issue is going to continue as it will continually drain. This is the first time this has happened, however I did once have an issue where my lights stayed on all night after I had power washed the car, though it was fine the next day...
It has been raining constantly for the past 2 weeks, could damp be an issue?
Apologies for lack of terminology I am not a car person at all! Thanks for any guidance you can offer!

You might have a problem with a relay in the fuse box.
I am sure there's a battery power hold/saver relay on these in the main engine fuse box.
They keep things powered up until you get out and lock the door or just for a certain number of minutes.
If it's failed, it could be causing everything to stay live.
I can't for the life of me remember which relay it is, but a bit of interweb searching should help you find which it is..0 -
Thankyou I thought it may be a relay after some research. I think I may have to try taking to a mechanic as I've not found any information on where the relay is located!0
