Upgrading a pvr like BT YouView box t2100 500gb

Ebay is awash with pvrs like the Humax/BT YouView box t2100 500gb, and others like the TalkTalk DN372
It seems the spec of the YouView boxes is similar (identical, except hard disc size?) - I assume this was an agreed standard. They seem to use a hard disc formatted to Linux.
Strangely there’s a basic solid state TT box that has no pvr hard disc (like the smaller square BT YV box) but seems to be the same size/shape/format as the TT 320gb hard drive version. Anyone got a pic of the insides of the solid state TT box?
Has anyone replaced or upgraded the hard drive on one of these boxes?

Unless later firmware has changed things it looks like the box can only see 320Gb no matter how big the drive.0
