Excel formula help?

Hi,

I have a long list of numbers which I'm going to put into excel. What I'd like the program to do is look at those numbers and work out and tell me how many times each number appears or at least which ones appear most. Will it be able do that for me please?

Or any other way I can do it, save counting it all by hand?

Yes

You can use the 'Count if' function.

example:

=COUNTIF(A13: A20,5) Without the space between : and A. On here it draws an :A

Putting the above into a cell will count the number if times 5 appears cells A13 to A20.

You could just use a Pivot Table, and let it categorise the numbers and give totals for how many times each ones appear. Experiment with the data menu
