Lovely to see your update! Glad the rest of 2019 has been treating you ok, what a pain about the identity fraud though! Starting 2020 virtually debt neutral is very good :-)DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Thanks for dropping by! It’s so nice to see some friendly names :-)
I’ve been reading back over my diary, and it’s hard to believe just how out of control everything was back then. I can’t thank all of you enough for helping me get back on track. I can’t say things are all working perfectly yet, but it’s a million miles away from where we were a year ago.
Another big change is that (partly helped by the identity fraud thing) DH is far more involved and on board. He has embraced the starling account and personal allowance system and is taking a far more active interest in what is happening financially :-)
And WE have decided to use the rest of our savings to pay off all the remaining credit card debt and start the new year DEBT FREE!!
I honestly can’t remember the last time I could say I wasn’t dealing with some kind of debt. Actually I don’t think there has been a single day in my adult life I wasn’t in debt. It’s taken 42 years, but here we are! So THANK YOU!
Now to build up some savings and start hitting the ridiculous mortgage!0 -
wow - hoping that will be me next year (except mortgage, but that wont be much longer)
well done on a brave, but sensible decision, and pop by to let us know how you are getting onI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -
