Hello,
I went for my PIP assessment 3 weeks ago today. I was advised i would hear within the next 6 weeks. I was wondering if anyone has recently went for the initial assessment, and how long did it take for you to get the decision?
Thanks

That 6 weeks is what they tell everyone. There's no timescales to any decision, it depends on backlog in your area.
You can ring and request a copy of the assessment report if you live in the UK. This will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be because they mostly go with the report. To request this, ring DWP.0 -
I live in the south of England and mine took exactly 8 weeks.0

Hi, At my assessment the lady said 8 weeks, a text said 6 weeks.
When i phoned them up was told 10 weeks, but like others have said it could be any time.
I never have 14 days notice, but all over now till the results come back.0 -
Hi there,
Thanks for your replies. I called PIP today and they said the decision had been made but he was unable to see the decision on his system and a decision letter was sent on 10/06. Anytime I have called ESA the decision was on the system? Is PIP different or was the advisor just being unhelpful?0 -
If the decision letter was sent on that date then i have no idea why they can't see it on the screen because they definitely should be able to see it.Hi there,

If the decision was made within the last 24 hours then no they won't be able to see it.
If it was me then i'd ring again and speak to someone else.0
