Removal of default advice

I opened a irresponsible lending claim with Aqua, and they found in my favour.
They gave me two credit cards within days of each other, and they both defaulted in Jan 15.
They have agreed to remove the default from one, and refund the interest paid. I’m still paying the purchases off myself.
Is it worth pushing for the other default to be removed? It’s unlikely I would have defaulted if not trying to maintain payments on both.
No attitudes please - I’m aware it was stupid to have one high interest CC, never mind two!

You can certainly ask them.
How hard it's worth pushing depends on the detail.0 -

That pretty much what youre limited to. Asking them nicely.
Theres ways you can force a default removal but its mainly to do with semantics about how it was registered or where a default has been applied when a debt never actually existed.
If the default is registered in jan 15 i wouldnt put much if any effort in to getting it removed. Firstly, i dont think it that likely they will remove it, theyve got a duty to report accurately. And secondly the effects of it are starting to wear off. Its about 17 months until it will no longer appear on your credit report.0 -
True, but we’re hoping to obtain a mortgage this time next year, so the fewer little negative factors showing, the better!0

You're still going to need to use a specialist broker.
Don't be expecting a decent rate high street mortgage0 -
I’m aware, thank you, I’m not expecting the best rates available either.0

The problem is its quite difficult to get them removed and thats when you use one of the tried and tested methods. As it is youre reasoning isnt one of the tried and tested methods so im thinking youre going to be met with a lot of 'nope' from what are going to be call center staff.
It took me 6 months of tooing and froing with a debt collection agency, the original debtor and the credit reference agencies before i got mine removed and that was a direct result of fraud so about as clear cut as you can get.
I honestly dont know how much irresponsible lending and aqua admitting this will effect the legitimacy of the default being issued. Its apparent the debt was defaulted on, i assume little argument there. So i cant see how Aqua can do anything else, they have a duty to report accurately to the credit reference agencies.0 -
Nothing to lose though?0

Only your time, patience and sanity. Of which youll lose a lot of them but they might remove it, you never know.0

They can either say yes or no. I won’t lose any sleep over it if they don’t, it’ll just be a bonus if they do0
