Hi

I was wondering if someone can advise..i have made a slight boo boo with my meter reading. I am with Avro energy and every month i submit manually via their website.

I recently received an email from them to say my bill was increasing to an extra £15. Quite a lot i thought so i investigated further and reviewed all my statements online.

To understand why my bill had increased as my usage hasnt increased dramatically, I realised i made an error and submitted a higher reading than what was the actual reading, a typo when i was entering the details for month February i entered 45478 instead of 43478.

This resulted in the hugely increased bill.

Since then my readings have been back in line and correct based on my usage. I have simply made a mistake.

I will email Avro about this, my question is what are my chances of resolving this quickly and efficiently?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Sorry, I don't quite follow. You submitted a meter reading that was 2000 units up on where it should have been, you got an increased bill and then you submitted a correct reading next month that was actually, say, -1700 below what you said it was the previous month? And everything else fell back into place?

So what's actually the issue here?

I think you might be confusing the "extra £15" to be your direct debit amount which is not your bill at all, that's just what you pay in instalments towards it. When you get a bill that credit is used against it.
  • Many people will submit an increased meter reading deliberately as a form of saving.Like prepayment meter users who keep a credit of over £200 on their meters.
2000 units is too much though .I m surprised that the supplier s auto billing systems ( they would not have actually viewed it by a human ) did nt reject it. They reject a too low one quickly enough

I put a wrong reading in once with Avro. I emailed them and they changed it a couple of days later.
