Clearly just me who gets excited about new things and impatient to try them out then!
I just found it ironic that I spend most of my life trying to spend less money, then now I really want to have some transactions on my new account, I can’t seem to find anything I need to buy :shrug:0 -
I've a similar situation with halifax, after years of passive aggressive texts either not arriving, or telling me I went overdrawn the day before or the latest ones where it texts me a couple of weeks before it thinks I will go overdrawn. Rather than just texting me on the day like everyone else, the new app now comes up with an alert telling me when a direct debit has been paid (ok it's still normally an hour after I noticed, but still).
After juggling all my DD to make sure halifax only had DD with predictable dates or values, so I don't incur any more overdraft fees. They've now got a better alert system than any of my other accounts.
Now Paypal have educated their staff that they can't re-enable "Add Money" to trigger a DD from the App by resetting the security on your account when you complain (it seems in some countries you are still allowed to do it, so the button and functionality remains & they have just been security flagging everyone's accounts in the UK). I've only just switched DD round again and I may have chosen different ones if I knew I could trust the DD paid alerts.
The latest halifax app also lets you pay cheques in using your mobile phone camera, but I've only received one cheque in the meantime. I might start writing cheques to transfer money between my accounts for fun.0 -

Yes! It’s very nice! And a pretty teal colour. I have two now, one personal and one joint :-)
Still haven’t managed to actually use them yet though. I have one lonely transaction in my app :-(0 -
Why don't you use them properly and transfer all your Direct Debits to them? Then you'll get a notification the day before they are due and the day they get paid.0
