HP 2130 all in one priner

My printer has been working ok and suddenly it won't scan , a message says "The HP Deskjet 2130 was not found".


It still prints when I press the buttons on top.


Can anyone give me any help how I can correct this?

I have been onto the HP fixing site first it says device error then it says do a test print which it did ok then a test scan which it did ok I then went back to the HP icon on my computer clicked scan and got the above message again as not recogised

I would remove the printer software and reinstall .

Did you run their Print and Scan Doctor for Windows?; https://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

Did you remove and reinstall the Drivers as suggested?

No it did'nt suggest it

I have now removed the printer and reinstalled and still the same result.


Does anyone have any ideas?

I have the same printer, but use Windows Fax & Scan. (Win 10)
The printer is connected to a USB hub.
The printer has an energy-saving auto-switchoff, so an ON button on the printer must be pressed to produce a printout.
