Furniture Company messing us around. Need help please.

Options
Hi MSE,

Firstly I'd like to thank anybody who will take the time to read this rather long rant and issue. However, my partner and I are at the end of our tether and my partners completely broke down over it.

We ordered a 5 piece nursery furniture set from Online4Baby. (O4B)

On the expected day of the delivery my partner booked the day off as it was shipped as freight and it was an all day slot. When the delivery came only 3 of the 8 parcels arrived.

We called and complained and was told there would be a re-delivery of the remaining. Another day lost in work.
When the remaining parcels came, the largest of all was clearly damaged and we signed saying it was damaged as proof.

Upon opening said parcel it was clear that the whole item had various damages.

We called the company who then told us that they would offer us a part refund and asked to take pictures to confirm any damage. My partner being heavily pregnant helped me and we took images and sent them off. No reply until the next day! The next day we were told that they would book a pickup in order to get the item back to the warehouse and then once confirmed send a new replacement.

Day of the courier coming out we waited all day to then call the courier and be told it had been cancelled. Another day lost.

After calling them they arranged another day which the courier did come and were advised a new item would be sent out 48 hours later.

4 days passed with no call or anything and we called the company to be told that the old item had not been signed in yet.

Im deployed away now and my partner is completely heartbroken. We are being completely messed around and she's broken down to me over the phone. This issue has been escalated to their manager but they are also dragging their feet.

I appreciate I have left much detail out and countless failed communications but who is it I can raise this issue with. I would happily stand up in a small court if needed as this has caused so much unnecessary stress on my partner
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

I would get home as soon as you can. Sod the furniture, it sounds as if your partner is highly stressed. Something's wrong if she's heartbroken and is breaking down over something so relatively meaningless. It's annoying, yes, but heartbroken? There's a bigger problem.

Reject the order, get a full refund, order from somewhere else and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy and what will follow.
