Overwhelmed - QDR solicitors letters, please help

The driver of my car parked in Bristol Temple Meads car park in October, not seeing payment notices, and received a ticket from Apcoa.

The following day, the driver dutifully purchased a ticket from the machine, but in the rush to get on with the day's activity, forgot to put the ticket in the window, earning another ticket.

There was every intention to appeal against both tickets, but didn't do so in time before the matter went to ZZPS. I have since received letters from QDR solicitors.

I have read and reread the threads on here, but find them completely overhwelming to try to work out what I need to do in my particular case. I'm not stupid, but am easily overwhelmed. Hence it taking so long for me to ask for help. When overwhelmed I tend to try to pretend things aren't happening.

I know that Apcoa will actually have a record of payment for the ticket for the second day. Is it too late to completely appeal against this on the basis that the ticket was bought?

And I have seen that the so called solicitors are not to be engaged with, but know that ignoring the matter isn't the answer. I know I am being a nuisance in asking anything, but can someone please point me in the direction of the right thread to help me do the right thing here?

thanks

The point is that you ignored ZZPS because you probably knew that they are one of the UK's biggest USELESS timewasters

QDR are much the same, a back street legal set up by the shamed Wright Hassall solicitors

The time you come back here is if QDR send a Letter before Claim giving you 30 days to respond/rebut and offering proof of their claim including costs

I agree it is confusing, but it is not rocket science, keep at it and it will all fall into place.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Which car park precisely were you in as there are several at Temple Meads? If it is part of the station itself then railway byelaws will apply, so this is the first thing you should establish.

It would help if you can go back and look at the signs where the car was parked, and take pictures of the site and signage.

I am actually hoping to visit Bristol by train tomorrow and alighting at Temple Meads. If you can't get your own pics, I will have a look and take some pics myself.

I have sent you a PM.

APCOA have never, ever, proceeded further than getting QDR involved. Only APCOA can issue court proceedings - and they never have. We have given this (or similar) message to thousands of posters, nothing has ever changed.

File and ignore anything that comes from QDR.

Should you be the very first in the country to break the mould and APCOA issue a Letter of Claim or court proceedings, [STRIKE]I'll eat my leg[/STRIKE] come back on this thread for further advice. I don't think we're going to see you!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I took some piccies last night and have sent the full suite to the OP by PM.

I also found this response by Network Rail to a FOI request that confirms railway byelaws apply to this station.

Just a taster of the pics I took. Spot the operator's name and the charge for not complying with the Ts and Cs.

The pedestrian sign is pretty clear. A good photo to use in evidence - clear signage vs unclear signage
