morning all. I haven't logged on for ages, as I had forgotten my password, but have still been reading along. Weather is surprisingly bright at the moment, but not very warm. I might try to get a load of washing done and hung outside.
Hubby and I got back from a lovely week in Lake Garda on Saturday afternoon. It was a bit of a pain getting back home though, the plane was delayed due to the air conditioning being broken, then we had train tickets to get from Manchester airport, onto Crewe, then onto Birmingham and then home, with specific times attached. We jumped on what was showing on the boards as the Crewe train, the ticket inspector came round and informed us that this was the Liverpool train, and there had been a last minute platform change. He claimed to have made an announcement, but neither of us heard him. On his way back up the train, hubby collared him, explained we had been unaware, and asked what we could do about it. We were advised to get off at Manchester Piccadilly, then change for Birmingham, and he wrote us a note which was thankfully accepted on the Manchester to Birmingham train.
I've got the rest of this week off as well, then back to work next week. Hopefully I'll manage to get some stuff done around the house, and catch up with friends.0 -

It's hard to believe rain is on the way - we are still frantically clinging on to blue sky and sun!
No answer from the Roger's number so I left a message with what I wanted doing. I asked if it was jobs he would want to do but, as yet, he hasn't got back to me. Meanwhile, it's like buses coming 2 at once! My friend has WhatsApped me an advert for a home and garden handyman she spotted in the local Aire/Worth Valley mag! So if I don't hear back from Roger the 1st I will try Roger the 2nd!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Steve has taken Laura back to London, we had a very quiet weekend so hopefully she will be feeling better this week. She has admitted that she is not up to going to Glastonbury (which they got tickets for before she got pregnant) so she'll probably come here while he is away then.
We're going to Yorkshire this afternoon. I was in two minds when I saw the weather but then I looked at the forecast for here and it's worse so we are going. I'd better go and get on with cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms before we go.0 -
Morning all
The rain hasn't arrived here yet but looks like it soon will. I had a good evening of crochet and watching football last night. I wasn't happy with the way my colour combination looked on the granny square so unwound it and tried a different colour and it looks so much better. Reminded me how much easier it is to unravel crochet than unpick knitting!0 -
Afternoon all
We were out early to collect a script from Dad's and deposit it in his surgery, then went on into town. We came back to collect Dad to take him over the mountain road to H. Barginous, where he bought 10 wooden garden fences. I popped into F Foods for some T. rolls and then we went over to As*a for lunch, a pizza slice and chips.
We have just come back and after my coffee, I shall put the bins out and tidy the kitchen.
Mr Fix It has just informed me that the bbc are scrapping the over 75's free Tv licence
.
Speky shame about the tooth. I hope you can get it sorted soon.
Sending healing vibes to the poorly ones and hugs to all
Take care
