O/S Daily Monday 10th June 2019
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those that are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now dull, dreich, and raining - was already damp underfoot from overnight rain - and the forecast is for rain all day and for the coming days - at least we won't have to water the plants.
DH and DS1 now getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my porridge.
Food yesterday was disjointed as we were out and about but we did get a fast food meal then a snack once settled back at home, DH had a fish finger sandwich with cheese and an egg on top, I had a bowl of salad. Tonight dinner will be fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg.
Weekend has been busy but enjoyable, was good to spend some time with DS2, he's settled and very happy, and working hard.
So on to today -
Back to work - we are now going into the holiday time and quite a few colleagues are now starting to have holidays - so we'll see how the staffing goes and how busy we are. We go on holiday at the beginning of July and I can't wait - really need a proper break away.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
I've walked the dog and made Steve a cuppa, I'm off to DD's for an hour this morning.

Morning all
Back from a quick weekend visit to Chester and North Wales, lots of driving but worth it. I had a good catch up with family, we all met at my elderly Uncle's nursing home for a teddy bears picnic, I don't think he knows who we are but he had a smile for us anyway! He has deteriorated a lot since I saw him last year, so sad.
I'll have to buy something for my lunch on my way to work, didn't do any shopping so there's nothing in. I'll visit DD on my way home from work.
Hope you're all well and had a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -
Morning

When I woke this morning it was foggy:eek: or misty I suppose they would describe it as anyway I thought it was my eyes at first
Weekend done and dusted again what happened there then. Monday brings a couple of sales meetings and a 9am video call. 3 courses to prep for this week as well
Food wise who know its a pick and mix or in my case a blind folded pick and mix
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. No rain here yet but it is forecast to come northwards later.
Youngest DGD is off on a school residential today for a few days. Lots of outdoor activities on the agenda - that won't be much fun in the weather we are promised. I am sure they will have contingency plans in place for inclement weather!
As soon as it is a respectable time to make a phone call I want to ring the odd job man/garden tidier whose number I have been given. He does jobs in the garden of my friend's next door neighbour and comes recommended. Hope he isn't too busy as I am beginning to despair looking out at the back garden.
Other than that just a pottering day indoors if we get the promised rain.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all who need or want them. Thinking as always of the poorlies and sad amongst us. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all
Pouring with rain here and set in for the week I think, it looks very wintery out there, lucky dd is off to Greece tomorrow for a week I am very jealous!!
Back to work today and the clients will be loud today because they cant get outside so we are in for a loud day.
TA I do hope your 'Roger' works out for you, we had a large part of the garden patio-ed over last year mainly because we just did not have time for the upkeep, it does make life so much easier perhaps something for you to think about long term xx
Got some pork chops out for dinner not sure what to have them with but wither a Jacket Pot or some new pots and veg.
Ebay parcels to post tonight, then an easy evening once dinner is done.
Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning, and it's a dry and sunny one here, until tomorrow evening I believe, when the rain will arrive.
We had a good day yesterday with DS and family, and the goulash went down well. I've frozen the left over sauce from it, I'd done it in the slow cooker and the sauce hadn't cooked off. It'll do as a base for chilli.
Normally on Monday mornings I visit and elderly friend, but she's been in hospital overnight, and is very tired and unwell.so I won't go this morning, I'll just keep in touch with her daughter.
I'll be taking Dgd to the crafting session at the library after school, then back here for tea.
Might get some more ironing done, and that will be it really. We must ring the boiler service man as well, the boiler is overdue for servicing.
Hope you get sorted out with someone to help you with the garden TA.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible
Take care folks xx0 -
Good morning all
Thank you for starting us off nmlc
Wet out and it feels quite cold this morning
Tried to get a lots of weeds out of the lawn yesterday which left bare patches so I put some grass seed down. Don't think I'll get any grass as all I did was feed the birds.
Need to do housework but cba so think we'll go out for lunch instead.
Thinking of all those finding life difficult at the momentIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Nothing but blue skies this morning, yet damp and cold.
I returned late last night from my trip back home. As always, it was spent visiting lots of people which was great. It included a trip to the dentist. They've been my dentist all my life and are well known in my area for being really rather good. I also found out that they're much more affordable than dentists in Manchester, too. Anyway, I had to get a filling replaced. No big deal. In and out in 30 minutes. Even polished my teeth and gave me a full check up too, £30 for the privilege. All was tickedy boo until my drive home yesterday when the same tooth cracked in half. So whilst I'm not in pain or anything, it's far from ideal, so I'll be phoning them at 9am and asking for an appointment this week again to get it sorted!
So, aside from all this, things are fine. Got my shopping in for the week ahead, will visit the gym and yoga tonight too.

Morning folks
All is calm here for a while. The window cleaner is due today and that means some upheaval as DM has stuff on all the window ledges. I can't watch the bloke when he's working as he steps outside the windows onto the outside ledge to do the outside of the windows.
I'm expecting a delivery, no idea when it will arrive. A friend has sent me 'something' which was due on Friday - cue waiting in - and then delayed until today. I hope it comes fairly early.
DM had a better day yesterday, ate well and walked easier than Sunday. I went out for a wander around the local area in the sunshine.
Now I have to get dressed, I've drip-dryed again! Thoughts to all those struggling and a very happy Monday to all.0 -
Morning all. Glad you had a good time Specky but boo to ctacked tooth. Hh enjoy the time with your daughter. LW sending you love and light if you are reading along.
Sunny here at the moment and DH has just put a load of washing in. Due to rain this afternoon sigh. We had heavy rain and hail yeasterday afternoon. DH will ring the plumber about the shower in a bit. Hope he comes soon.
Well hugs to all and I hope you can dodge the rain.
