Reclaiming bank charges

Myself and my partner have a mortgage with Abbey and the monthly repayments come out of my account. Is it possible for my partner to reclaim his bank charges with Abbey? I know this will mean him closing his account with Abbey but would this affect the mortgage?

You won't necessarily need to close the bank account. You should check that the mortgage doesn't require payments to be taken from an Abbey account. It probably doesn't which means you can set up a DD from your new account, if this is required.

The mortgage is covered under a seperate agreement, so reclaiming charges should not affect your mortgage as long as it's up to date.
