Anybody else been taken to court by ex landlord?

How can you be "bullied" out of contesting an issue for a deposit? That sounds rather like a poor excuse for failing to engage with the process.suppose have been bullied out of contesting it thus far
If the DPS process has now concluded, you'll have to write off the deposit, but can of course contest the court claim.
If you fail to respond to the court claim in time, then a CCJ will automatically be issued for the entire amount claimed by the landlord plus interest and costs.
If you wish to contest this claim, you should:More concerned about being taken to court for £1500 for some dirty carpet and ripped Lino.
1) Immediately acknowledge service - as this gives you more time to prepare a Defence.
2) Prepare your Defence, and get it in on time.
The best way of doing your Defence will be to go through each of the amounts the landlord is claiming, one by one, in clearly numbered separate paragraphs, explaining why you deny liability or don't agree with the amount being claimed.0 -
How did the court claim go from £380 to £1,500...? In the course of two hours of a Sunday afternoon...?
If you've already agreed to release the deposit, then that £600 is gone. You agreed to the landlord having it. It does sound as if you are indeed responsible for much of the damage claimed, so the only question is one of amount.
For a court claim, he'll need to lodge details, which you can query in your defence.0
