Employment checking for 5 yrs

Hi
girlfriend has just started a temp to perm job, agency told her it was an assignment starting next day. She gave up her last temp job for it, day before, on arrival was told it was a working interview all day, followed by a formal hour long interview at 1500, shock!
Then in interview was told she could continue as a temp and that they would conditionally take her on if she passed employment checks and they matched for 5 yrs. This she was not warned of either.
It is a communications company with high stake clients that cannot be named.
She went home and checked her CV, AND 2 yrs ago, she accidently missed one call centre role off her cv for 4 mths, totally in error, she had been in the prev role for 4 yrs, then did 4 mths at said call centre, and 2 mths temping then into a perm role for a year, so it is a mistake for only that period, all other periods agree. for whole 5 yrs,
Also these days companies are not prepared to give references, he apparently said it was dependant upon all dates of employment and job titles agreeing, what do you think will happen due to this omission in error, she thinks it was done by picking up and old cv and adding the later jobs and obviously picking up the wrong one, it was a genuine error, her credit reference is excellent, she is on electorl role, she has no crim stuff or anything so clean elsewhere

It depends what way they conduct their five year checks.
I’d be honest from the start.0 -
yes but she has already done interview and it was her cv that was slightly wrong.
how do they conduct checks, i think it may be a form to be filled in stating dates job title and dates
if she does this then she can correct it at that point? you are talking a few mths out of 30 that were slightly wrong:beer:

Some companies will use forms and then they will reference check all employers on.
Others will use third party organisations to do this on their behalf.
I know some employers that will want gaps identified too and explained and if it was for example claiming benefits then a letter from the DWP outlining dates received benefits would be required.
Yes it was her CV that was wrong but if she puts different stuff on the form to her CV then it looks like she originally lied and may have the job offer withdrawn.
It’s her decision but honesty is better in my opinion.0 -

Are there any issues of concern re her exit from the 4 month role?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
no concerns she just resigned and left...

I'm an Agency worker, currently temping after a 10 minute interview and actually my work references are still being checked.
As soon as I was offered the assignment, a link to background screening was provided for 2 years worth of references so you are on the right lines about the checking. I had not long taken a courier company of 3 weeks off the CV completely (knew I had previous reference issue but only in 2019, not a peep was mentioned during 2018! and put simply no past interviewer really wanted to know about a different position for such a small period and my CV currently is in hell of a mess) but I certainly felt the need to declare when the background screening called for character reference from the likes of policeman/lawyer/dentist/optician and other particular weird and wonderful stated positions as an alternative option when it come across gaps of 42 days. The agency were really insistent on this.
The must of known you 3 years+ character reference... I know for sure got checked before I started assignment.
My consensus is yes the CV can be different. I only learnt last week that one of the companies from the period of the requested 2 years has had a name change and no longer holds the particular account I was on even, in any application or interview no one has ever picked me up and said you've the company name now wrong (I'm pretty interested in how that will pan out whilst the agency are interested in the courier) got a horrible feeling the character reference will trump all which the agency were really so insistent on. Even going in for the 2 minute ID check, it was mentioned a character reference was needed after they clearly had reviewed what I submitted.0 -
I just spoke to her and she is really upset about it all.
Understandably, the agency that sent her did not tell her she was doing a working interview and a full on competency based interview.
So she was not prepared for it, and she was not advised prior to attending that such strict checking was going to take place.
I understand how she feels I would feel the same. she should have been warned and in the job description there should have been something to explain this.
She could end up with no job now. Quite quickly,

Probably be fine, is this job worth it?
I would have walked straight out to be honest. Working interviews sound ridiculously low level for this type of background checking0 -
Are the dates on her CV right leaving that period as a blank, or were the dates of one of her other roles wrong/too long on the CV? If she just uncluttered her CV by leaving a job off, but the dates that were on it were all true, I think it should be no problem to tell them now.But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

all other dates correct just that one mistake... everything else since2012 to now correct everything else totally matches:beer:
