    Well, two options:

    1. Make them aware of the issue and play it down as much as possible.

    2. Keep shut and pray that they don't notice.

EDIT: you could also consider pulling out BEFORE the checks if this is tomorrow.

I have a shred of sympathy in one respect because a lot of people do this on CVs. Omitting certain things, and putting themselves in the best light possible. This sort of situation could arise for a lot of people, it just may not be common.

That being said, do I believe that it was in error? Not really. And even if it is, that would raise questions as to the suitability for a job involving high stakes clients (Is your girlfriend trustworthy? Will they potentially miss some key details in their role and cost the company money?)*

    * That being said, if there's a genuine confounding factor at play here (such as medical; memory issues perhaps?) then you'd be potentially wise to reveal it to employer.

Tough situation to be in like, and not really much more we can advise on! You made the bed (even though, like I said, you have some sympathy from me) and now need to lie in it.

Did she give her CV to the company or was it via the agency? If it wasvia the agency, then the simplest may be to speak to HR, give them a corect list and ask that they work from that - simply say that she isn't certain that the information provided to them by the agency will be accurate.

If she did it hersdelf, then let thm have an updated list and just mention that she has noticed a minor erroron the previous version

Remember CV's do not need to have a complete history of employment on them and most people tailor CVs to suit roles as appropriate.

E.g. I am school teacher but between a temporary contract ending at Easter and starting in an international school in August I worked as a seasonal security officer in an airport.

None of my teaching CVs have any of my student-job roles or the seasonal airport worker role on it as they aren't relevant.

However, when asked for a complete five-year employment history (as I was when I returned from overseas after 2 years), the airport role WAS included.

CV's are an overview and should only run to 2 sides of A4 as a maximum according to best practice guides. It is therefore all but impossible to list every role you've ever had especially when a number are temporary/short-term.

Well she had a second interview for a job she interviewed for 3 wks ago, had the interview yesterday and they offered her the job, more money, no emp checks etc, just normal. so she is going to work in the temp role that wants the full on credit, crime, employment check , work until friday this week and hand her notice in. She has to give 7 days, but I imagine they will terminate her immed as it states in her temp contract with them they can terminate immed. She won't have to go through it and the company she is going to is a really good company and a better job and more money. Result! thanks all.
