    If the gas cookers if giving off gas fumes to such an extent that they can be smelt through an air vent OP has bigger problems than a smelly patio!

    Thank you for all the advice everyone. You’re probably right about the u pipe and yes they approach me first regarding the air vent.

    I thought the u pipe would look too ugly that's why i placed a cowled outlet upside down. I drilled small holes to allow any water to drain directly away. It looks better than a u pipe but tonight while outside they were cooking and i could still smell it.
    I'll speak to them.
