I've never tried the vin number since it's not a live site as such. I just go to the model/year/system.
Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.
Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience?

Why? So you can argue with them?

The arm is fine, but those discs are past it too. Nice and easy to do them while all apart.

I usually use AutoDoc - decent parts and prices aren't too bad either.
Any decent brand will be fine - Euro usually offer cheap copies, but there are good aftermarket brands out there (KYB, Meyle etc) which AutoDoc should list.

    Quick question.

When I told ECP online the OEM number for my coils, they confirmed that their item: 627444120 was correct. However the store, which got my reg number, supplied part 627446150.
If I go online and find the supplied part, it appears to also be suitable for my vehicle - it's got a higher RRP than 627444120, but the specs appear to be the same - dimension, diameter and length.

I'm also slightly perturbed by the lack of any paint marks on them - I understood that all VW coils are marked with paint for easy identification of correct part. The ones coming out have pink, yellow and blue marks. The new springs have no markings.

I'm guessing that because I'm replacing the pair together, and they seem to be very similar, I should be fine - wondering if it's worth me trying to find the OEM number for the supplied springs and comparing that elsewhere to see if there is any difference, rather than just trusting the ECP website.
