Remove my name from title deeds?

Hi all,
Myself and partner have split up but not devoiced yet. I want to leave the house to her which is mortgage free. I've been quoted £400+ to have my name removed from the deeds by a solicitor.
I feel this is a costly service and just wanted to know if there was a diy option?
Many thanks

You can do it yourself very easily as there is no mortgage.
But before rushing ahad, make sure it is all agreed as part of the divorce setlement.......0 -
Many thanks all, really appreciated!
I'll digest the information but glancing over it looks straight forward...The rest is silence....?:)

Thanks for the link! No silence intended just waiting for the devoice law's to change making it easier for all involved....But before rushing ahad, make sure it is all agreed as part of the divorce setlement.......
I didn't even consider this are you saying it can come back to sting me?? Why would this be recommended?0 -
I agree with G_M.
Before you start transferring the house deeds, you want to make sure the whole settlement is agreed.
Otherwise you end up in a situation where she gets the house and still asks for more money.0 -
You are giving away a hugely valuable asset which is part of the marriage. Divorce involves, amongst other things, division of those asets, and often even where the divorce start off amicable, when push comes to financial shove, arguements can arise.I didn't even consider this are you saying it can come back to sting me?? Why would this be recommended?
If you have already given away possibly the largest asset, you are left fighting over scraps......0 -
I'm confused now....
We have no other assets or savings so on what grounds after me leaving the whole house can more be asked for?
I still plan to pay maintenance for kids.0 -
Why are you giving her the whole house?Gather ye rosebuds while ye may0

Sorry that my phychic powers were inadequate - I had no idea whether or not you had a french holiday villa, a yacht, pension scheme, investments, bank savings, kids, credit card debts or indeed a Ferrari.I'm confused now....

But as jimbog says, why are you giving her the house?0 -
