Beyond perks like cashback or equivalents, having a prime or sub-prime card makes no difference, so long as you're paying it off in full every month. Lenders don't see and certainly don't judge future stuff like a mortgage based on whether you have a "good" or "bad" card
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I'd expect subprime card limits to max out way below where prime cards will as well though.0 -
Maybe try a soft search direct with a prime lender?
Barclaycard : https://www.barclays.co.uk/credit-cards/check-your-eligibility/
MBNA : https://www.mbna.co.uk/credit-card-eligibility-checker.html
I just tried the MBNA checker and am pre approved for 4 of their cards at alot better rates that i currently have so that is something to bear in mind. Thank you boo_starI came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0 -
Maybe the comparison sites are using old data?
Maybe they are. My plan now is to wait to all the credit reports are updated as in what i can see. I will then see if scores are updated and any new offers are listed in their eligibility checkers.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0 -
I currently have zero balance on all 4 cards. I have been using the cards and paying off the balance in full each month. I am wondering why the eligibility credit card checkers are only coming up with sub prime card offers.
What's your utilization rate? It usually takes 3 years of spotless behaviour before you get eligible for a mainstream card. But, as some have said, you can still try your own bank if you need another card.Your cholesterol levels are not seen, or used, by your heart and arteries, so ignore it.

Bear in mind that if they're using old data they may end up holding onto it past the date that your files show as being clear.0 -
