NatWest Bank Account

Years ago i had a Nat West bank account and can remember at some point during having the account i was told by a member of the bank staff i would benefit from changing my account type to one with a monthly fee.
Now as this was a number of years ago and i no longer bank with Nat West i don't remember my account number and certainly don't have any old statements to refer to.
Is there anything i can do to find out this information which i seem to need to try and claim back as i feel i was unfairly talked in to paying a monthly fee for my account.

How are you going to prove you were told this?
You may well have had a benefit from changing e.g. more of an overdraft, cheaper loans, account benefits like insurance etc. Closing the account triggers the 3 year time bar too, you may be out of time to complain anyway.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
