Had my car insurance quote off DL and it’s gone up by £60 for the coming year. Thought I’d go online and pose as a new customer. When I clicked on quote I had an error message “ sorry the page you have requested is not available outside the UK.” It would appear my IP address is locating me outside of the UK. But on checking my IP location it’s giving me the correct location. Used the below site to check. Any ideas please.

Clear cookies and internet history and reboot .
Get some prices and phone DL and say you wish to cancel due to price .
Note if you have DL breakdown cover cancel it as its overpriced basic cover . Top of the range same cover from Green Flag is the same price .

Just get your best price on a comparison site, and then phone direct line and ask them to see how close they can get to matching it.
I did it yesterday, they reduced my price by £15 to only £3 higher than Admiral. I didn't want to switch to Admiral, so I stuck with Direct Line.
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

I am a non driver and I have just persuaded my wife to look elsewhere after being with DL for 28 years. DL has given a good service during that time but one company is offering to give new and existing customers the same deal. So rather than use a comparision site we got a quote from that one and from another 2 direct. All were similar and a lot lot lower than DL. We also looked at customer satisfaction tables. I am not sure if DL allows you to select a mileage range but that may be one factor in her lower rate as she does not do many thousands. So she rang DL and they could reduce their quote by 20% but it was still not enough to stay with them.
