This all seems a bit much for the sake of one ML search.

Just let it go and get on with more important things in life rather than obsessing over your credit files

i disagree i think the OP should be cheered on for doing this

keep us updated please moving forwards

I’m glad I’ve found this thread because I’ve had the exact same search from the Tsb and I’ve never have any financial product from them to hold me on their records.
Could it be anything to do with the switch to credit karma seeing as my Experian and Equifax reports don’t have this search on my record.

I have heard from TSB. There are no fraudulent applications been made , which was my main concern. There was a load of gobbledy gook as to the reasons why they would have don't a ML search. I was give the option to complain but wasn't a need. I have found out that I have a few saving accounts with TSB!! Only a couple of pence in them ....wont be retiring any time soon :-)

Just to quickly come back and update this thread.

I have complained to the FOS and have now had their response. Apparently I still have an account open with TSB from when I was a teenager! Has a zero balance, but as it's open I'm still a customer.

All this could have been resolved if TSB would have just said that I had an open account when I complained to them in the first place, I could have officially closed it months ago.

Just goes to show how far back banks do hold information.
