Not far away from you at all then. You're doing better than Forest at the moment. Think a team of blind men could do better than Forest right now though so not a massive compliment ha. Hoping to take my son to the football when we can.
How do you cope with the time off? Time off my business drives me mad and into self destructive stuff. Ridiculous I know should enjoy that time with family but more often than not don't.
Can sit back for Christmas then now? Same here apart from tree coming on Friday.
Hope MOT ok - if it goes straight through sounds like you'll have a bit of unexpected cash. 🤞
Tbh re the outside work I just switch off now, its been hard for me to get to that stage if I am being honest but it was affecting my time with family and always felt like I was never away from work and the reality is I wasn't paid enough nor in a role that required me to be as switched on as I was. I was always checking work emails even when not in work haha. I know that it is something you battle with daily but stepping back abit would deffo help you in other areas but I do know from experience its tough, I can only imagine it is even tougher when its your own business.
Tbh I can't bloody wait for football to be back a part of my regular events... I know that sounds pathetic haha but its just everything about it - the excitement of match day, the meeting the lads for a drinks and the whole thing. Although I am from Barnsley I am Leeds Utd mad!!! haha we have a family full of Leeds fans, you should defo take your son. I still remember my first game as if it was yesterday I was 7 years old and I was hooked the minute I was in the stadium and have been since. I took my daughter...she wasn't has impressed haha
Here is hoping for a nice simple MOT pass haha.

Morning MSE world..
Up nice and early today and ready for the day ahead, today is my Friday hehe Yay! then a nice 16 days off work- I woke up this morning expecting to feel like any normal day but got a little bit of a nervous feeling in tummy! Nice warm cup of tea and ready for work - what will be will be! Let's smash this!
Hope you all have a fantastic day

Ah and relax! Wow that day dragged so much but that's me officially done for 16 days now
which can't be grumbled at. I also got the new position which was a really nice thing to get sorted, I should get the offer letter within next few days with a view to official announcement/start date of 1st. Although it will be a transition as I will still need to cover my current role while they recruit and I train my replacement. I feel elated and this is a huge step in where I want to go career wise, so although its going to be a lot more work and involved its also better hours, more holidays and a 5k per yr payrise haha so that's going to make a huge difference. Tonight its pizza and a few beers to relax and celebrate really, I have been nervous about this for a while now but hopefully by Jan I will be on my new hours
Hope everyone had a good day

well done Dan
Enjoy your success (and beers)
With your new MSE head on the new money will get used well I'm sure of that - with the bonus of not having very much debt to clear first
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine1 -
Congratulations 🎉
Celebrations & 16 days off both sound good, enjoy!
If you want to start planning for your new salary I've always found this site good for working out new take home pay: https://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/1 -
Well done mate and congratulations. 🥂 Absolutely made up for you.
re work tbh I go mad when I have the time off !!!!!! hate being away from my business life lol. Ok for 1/2 weeks actual holiday but time off at home and it just becomes a week of complete self destruct haha.
Not pathetic at all re football. I’ve not been to a match in a few years but know exactly what you mean re the atmosphere. Been to a few Leeds matches, one of my property mates is a massive Leeds fan. My son loves football so think he’ll like going to a big match. Shame re your daughter, my sister has three kids all football mad 1 boy, 2 girls so there is definitely hope!

Well what a difference a day can make
not going to lie feeling very dejected right now. Car failed MOT....in spectacular fashion which certainly wasn't in the plans for sure. There's no way my budget stretches has far as needed that is for sure. I was as prepared as I could be and it just feels like all the hard work of the year as literally been destroyed in 3 hours. Not even sure where to go now, no way the budget stretches - financing a new car is not possible - fixing the current car would be insane - and not got enough to stretch to but something decent right at this moment...arghhhhhhh just feels like failure it really does. I need car for work so now need to somehow figure what I do. Its also put me in such a foul mood today my gf needs a medal to have dealt with me today!
I just was sure the car would have been fine, I knew the issue with the brakes would come up I was prepared and budgeted for that and a little more minor work...I didn't plan or expect the bill they want to fix it. I think a new plan is needed and quickly I need to just accept it for what it is and move on0 -

I think I am going to get a second opinion tbh - the garage do have really good reviews although it wasn't my preferred choice but my normal place was proper full. I am slightly confused as the car as been pretty well looked after and serviced well with exception of 1 year service. I guess I have to weigh up the cost of keeping this on road and the cost of a decent enough replacement, I have money to maybe buy a little cheap runaround but unsure if that is the best route to go. I do have a mate that is a ford specialist mechanic and he might be able to get stuff on trade discount and maybe mates rates but at the cost at the moment even if he knocks a few hundred of it then I am still talking just short of 1k.
The job is such a good move for me career wise and will defo benefit me for sure0
