PCN Highview Parking

Hi all, I have read lots of threads but need a little more info. Here's my issue:
I have received a PCN from Highview Parking as I am the registered keeper of my vehicle, the car was being driven by my other half. She was dropping my elderly mother off who is 80 years old to purchase a train ticket at a nearby train station, the approach to the station was very busy due to a local music festive taking place, she therefore pulled into a private car park managed by Highview Parking in order for mother to exit the car safely and not cause any further conjestion on the station approach as the traffic was backing up onto the main road. My mother got out and walked approx 200 yards to the train station and purchased the ticket, the driver waited for her to return but wasn't in a designated space in the car park. My mother returned 12 minutes later with her ticket and got back into the car and they drove off.
5 days later I received the PCN from Highview Parking showing the car entering the car park then leaving 12 minutes later, they have issued the PCN as there is no evidence of any payment made.
I am keen NOT to pay this PCN and wish to appeal it. I have read the template letter but I am unsure exactly how to word it adding that one of the occupants was elderly therefore a reasonable adjustment to any grace period should be extended. If I write something like this does this admit responsibility? Also should I include a copy of the train ticket that was purchased and add the mitigating circumstances (traffic due to music festival) as the reason for her entering the car park in the first place. In addition do I include that the charge of £80 (£40 if paid within 14 days) is excessive when the all day charge is only £3 on a Saturday.
Your help would be much appreciated thanks.

You don't need to because you were not driving, and Highview don't use the POFA wording (para 9) on their postal PCNs.I have read the template letter but I am unsure exactly how to word it adding that one of the occupants was elderly therefore a reasonable adjustment to any grace period should be extended.
Once you appeal, they might try a begging email asking who was driving. Ignore that.
They will cancel later this month!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks, do I just appeal and use the template letter word for word and not add or remove anything?0

Yes indeedy.
You could remove the PDT machine/VRN sentence and say instead, that you were not the driver and are well aware that Highview don't use the POFA wording (para 9) on their postal PCNs, so they have no case and please can they spare you the utter waste of time of their template begging letter asking who was driving, and just make your day by cancelling.
Be as flippant as you like, these firms are scammers, not worthy of respect.
It works, I promise, and part of it is that Highview recognise you are on MSE and will give up as they know that the lazy wording on their NTK can't hold you liable.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
